Khyber Pakhtunkhwa [Pakistan], December 26, 2023: In a first, a Hindu woman in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner district has filed her nomination papers for a general seat in Pakistan’s upcoming elections, according to Dawn.
On February 8, 2024, general elections will be held in Pakistan to elect members of the 16th National Assembly.
Saveera Parkash has officially filed her nomination papers for the Buner district general seat of PK-25.
Parkash is the general secretary of the PPP women’s wing in Buner and a 2022 graduate of Abbottabad International Medical College. She expressed her desire to work for the betterment of women, ensuring a safe environment, and advocating for their rights, expressing her commitment to the welfare of the community.
She submitted her nomination papers on December 23, hoping that the PPP’s senior leadership would support her candidacy.
Parkash, who has a medical background, emphasized that “serving humanity is in my blood.”
